Full VERS 1-5 Certification of Compliance achieved
OBS's SharePoint based records management product, i5 Records Management Software has been awarded full VERS 1-5 compliance certification for long term electronic records management. VERS (Victorian Electronic Records Strategy) has been developed by the Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) to provide leadership and direction in the management of digital records.

Whilst VERS is a Victorian government initiative, it has been globally promoted, accepted and used by archival institutions, national and international Governments as well as local and global product vendors.
While still supporting the SharePoint 2007 platform, i5 Software is well advanced with their plans to support the SharePoint 2010 platform with greater use of SharePoint's new records management features (Term Sets, Records Centre, Document Sets) in addition to their workflow and reporting tools.

The solution, called i5 Software, Records Management for SharePoint, is based entirely on Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server 2007. Because i5 Software is built using SharePoint technology, the system can be quickly and inexpensively deployed on existing SharePoint Server 2007 installations, immediately providing organizations with a secure and efficient way to manage their electronic and physical records. The new Queensland based i5 Software Pty Ltd wholly owned by the OBS Technology Group, will build on the innovation and customer success to date of i5 Records Management software. OBS is increasing its investment in i5 and records management significantly, with new premises, a larger team, and commitment to a three year investment roadmap for the products.
i5 Software will be lead by record management industry thought leader, Desmond Russell, bringing with him a team of records management and Microsoft technology specialists all driven towards the i5 vision of providing quality records management for the masses.
